SMA UK Welcomes Graeme Robson as Vice President of Sales

With over three decades of expertise spanning business development and marketing, Graeme’s leadership promises to chart a course toward unparalleled success in the competitive UK landscape. 

Graeme’s professional journey is marked by a series of achievements and notable experiences. From his formative years at IBM to his impactful roles at Babcock and QinetiQ, he has consistently showcased an adeptness at delivering what the customer needs. Of his process, he says, “I’ve helped them align their internal sales and capture and bidding process more to the customer’s timeline. It causes us to move some things around and reprioritize, but we start to knock on the door exactly when the customer wants to hear and have input. And it is an absolute multiplier into their BD effectiveness.” Graeme emphasizes the importance of not getting caught up in “best practices,” but instead doing what is best for the customer. 

Reflecting on SMA, Graeme shares that he has been aware of the company for a long time. “All of the time, it was always a bit bizarre as to why you weren’t in the UK. It felt like it was a good market for you to be involved in.” Now, years later, Graeme is deeply involved in SMA’s initiative to penetrate and grow within the UK market. He is excited to take on this new challenge. 

Beyond work, Graeme is a devoted family man and has diverse interests. As a proud father of four children, he is a hands-on father, calling his children “little sponges for information.” His leisure pursuits include reading crime thrillers and exploring an eclectic blend of music genres. This includes “easy, soft rock, [and] edgy folk stuff” introduced by his sons. He also has an affinity for sports, particularly cricket and football. Graeme also adds that his free time is now spent “going through the SMA catalog of books.”
