We are sad to announce the passing of our friend and colleague Gregory Ward, CPA, CF APMP.
Greg joined SMA in 2013 as an Associate and worked on assignments directly with DCMA, DCAA, and NDIA supporting clients with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) implementations, and preparation for Validation Reviews and Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs). He was promoted to Vice President of Business Development in 2017, securing new business with our clients across the program lifecycle, and becoming one of our highest revenue generating sales leads. Greg was a great teammate and was a friend to many in at SMA Headquarters, with our field associates, and colleagues at the firms he supported. Prior to joining SMA, Greg worked as a Professional Applications Consultant for over ten years at Dekker, Ltd., a provider of program management and EVM software, consulting, and training.
Greg started his professional career as a CPA and held several positions in program management and business development including Program Controller at Logicon (now part of Northrop Grumman), Business Manager at TRW, and Director of Project Controls at SAIC before joining Dekker as VP of Business Development. Greg earned a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from the USC Marshall School of Business.
Greg is survived by his wife Pat, daughters Bree, Amber, and Cory, and five grandchildren.
