Several members of our headquarters and management consulting staff ran the Orange County (OC) 5k run/walk on a sunny Saturday afternoon around the Orange County Fairgrounds and Orange Coast College grounds in Costa Mesa, California. Our team comprised Lucky Ghuman, Greg Petrisor, Jacque Keats, Vivek Sharma, Adam Yale, Dylan Ramsbottom, Dick Eassom, and Vinod Kumar. A very popular local event, over 1,860 runners took part and were entertained by a full finish line festival party with live music, food, and refreshments.
On the following Sunday morning, Greg Petrisor ran the 26.2 miles of the SDCCU OC Marathon from Newport Beach’s Fashion Island to the Fairgrounds via Costa Mesa’s Segerstrom Center for the Arts and around South Coast Plaza and Santa Ana’s River Trail. Over 1,400 runners took part in the event, often described as one of the most scenic marathons in the country, which had been canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Greg recently ran the Los Angeles Marathon.
Also on Sunday morning, Dick Eassom ran the Half Marathon from Fashion Island to the Fairgrounds as part of his quest to complete the Beach Cities Challenge for the second consecutive year, the challenge comprised completing the three half marathons of Surf City (Huntington Beach), OC, and later this year, Long Beach.
In addition to their 5k and marathon/half marathon finisher’s medals, both Greg and Dick received the OC Combo Crush medal for completing both events!
